Education Committee Policy Statement


Objectives:

              1.          Develop and implement procedures for soliciting and disseminating training and education opportunities for federal probation and Pretrial staff.

              2.          Ensure timely dissemination of relevant information to all stakeholders.

              3.          Maintain educational integrity standards and vet any training opportunities through appropriate channels.

              4.          Facilitate internal communication among the other committees and FPPOA board to enhance collaboration, awareness, and organizational culture.

              5.          Evaluate the success of educational opportunities/information and recommend improvements.


Responsibilities:

              •            Oversee education material dissemination through online training opportunities, NTI sessions, newsletters, and website materials.

              •            Ensure that all education materials are relevant to the field of federal probation and pretrial, reflect the organization’s value and adhere to established policies and guidelines.

              •            Act as a liaison between FPPOA members, trainees and the public and those providing education material.

              •            Collect and disseminate annual scholarship program awards.    

   

The Education Committee will meet virtually each quarter, or as needed, to review progress toward objectives, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Members are expected to collaborate proactively, respect confidentiality, and act in the best interests of the FPPOA organization, federal probation and pretrial staff, the Court, and the community.


To participate in the Education Committee, you must be an FPPOA member, ensure you have the approval of your District’s Chief, and submit a statement of interest to one of the four committee chairs.
