In 2007, I began my career with United States Probation Department, in the Eastern District of Michigan as a supervision officer. In 2014, I was promoted to a Senior United States Probation Officer as a Mental Health Specialist. I am a local and national STARR Coach. Member of our department’s IT and Evidence-Based practices implementation groups. In 2001, I received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and in 2015 obtained my Master’s Degree in Public Administration.  

Great Lakes Region

About the Region:
The Great Lakes Region is comprised of the states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The region is comprised of the great metropolitan areas of Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit and Cleveland which makes up most of the membership base for the region. The regional line officer of the year award is named after our fallen collegue, Thomas E. Gahl.

Thomas Gahl Video

On September 22nd, 1986 Tom Gahl became the first United States Probation Officer to be killed in the line of duty. This video commemorates the 25th anniversary of his death.
