In September 2011, I was appointed as a U.S. Probation Officer in the Northern District of New York.  I have been a presentence investigator for my entire career with the judiciary.  I am a member of the district's search team and serve as an evidence officer.  Before my appointment, I had prior federal service as an Assistant Pretrial Services Officer and Pretrial Services Officer for the Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia.

Thomas Gahl Video

On September 22nd, 1986 Tom Gahl became the first United States Probation Officer to be killed in the line of duty. This video commemorates the 25th anniversary of his death.
