In June of 2013, Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Anderson was appointed as an U.S. Probation Officer to the supervision division in the Western District of North Carolina. In 2016, she was promoted to Senior U.S. Probation Officer as the Mental Health Treatment Specialist (typically known as DATS). She serves on the Evidence-Based Practices working group, as a New Officer Mentor and sits on the Supervision Divisional Leadership Team. In 2000, Jackie received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and in 2004 obtained her Master degree in Counseling and Guidance. She provides a wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership, having transitioned from state (North Carolina) to federal probation with 15 years of practice in the fields of Addictions, Mental Health and Criminal Justice.

On September 22nd, 1986 Tom Gahl became the first United States Probation Officer to be killed in the line of duty. This video commemorates the 25th anniversary of his death.
