FPPOA National Academic Scholarship

Purpose:

Promotion of professional and educational development through financial support to U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Officers and Officer Assistants who manifest a commitment to the filed of probation and pretrial services

To Qualify you must:

Be a College junior, senior undergraduate or a student with 12 hours or more completed in a post-graduate program

Level of Education for which Award is granted:

Undergraduate, Graduate, or Post-Graduate

Amount of Award:

Maximum of $1,000 per year.

Method of Disbursement:

Cash payment

Applicants must

  1. Be a Federal Probation or Pretrial Services Officer or Officer Assistant who is an active member of FPPOA
  2. Be a college junior or senior in an undergraduate program or a post-graduate student with at least 12credit hours completed
  3. Be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in the field of Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or are of study that enhances the field of U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services
  4. No member of the FPPOA Executive Board shall be eligible to receive the award until at least one year from the expiration of his/her term of office

You need to submit:

  1. A transcript of all college credits and current course schedule
  2. Two letters of recommendation (excluding relatives) from individuals who have known you for a least two years
  3. Completed application form
  4. A brief statement/narrative (no more than one page) regarding your educational experiences and goal

Selection Process

The monetary amounts and number of awards granted are determined by the FPPOA Executive Board
