Julie began her career in the field of criminal justice as a sentencing specialist with the Sentencing Services Program for the 3rd and 8th Judicial Districts of North Carolina. As a sentencing specialist, Julie prepared presentence reports for felony offenders in the state system. She was appointed as a U.S. Probation Officer for the Eastern District of North Carolina in July 2002 and was assigned to the Raleigh Office. In a combined district, Julie has worked in pretrial and presentence investigations. She assisted in planning the D.C. and 4th Circuit Sex Offender Symposiums in 2005 and 2007. Julie became involved with the Federal Probation & Pretrial Officers Association Mid-Atlantic Region in 2007 and currently serves as the region’s president.
