FPPOA National Officers

Jerry L. Evans, President

Jerry

Jerry first became involved in FPPOA in 1998 when he was selected as the Vice President of the Central Region. Jerry served two years in that capacity before becoming President of the Central Region in 2000. In 2003, Jerry was elected as the National Secretary for FPPOA, and in 2005, Jerry was elected as the National President of FPPOA.

“FPPOA is a great organization with a rich history. I am humbled and grateful to be the National President. My goal is to make everyone come to appreciate the value of belonging to such a remarkable professional service association. I would encourage anyone who is considering joining and has questions to please give me a call or e-mail me. I would be more than willing to address anyone’s questions or concerns. Also, I hope to meet many of you at the next National Training Institute which is scheduled to take place in Nashville, TN., in the Spring of 2007.”

 

Richard Gayler, Vice President

Richard

Senior U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Officer Richard Gayler has been working as a probation and pretrial services officer since 1989. He is currently stationed in a one man office in the District of Idaho and primarily supervises individuals in rural and reservation areas. He previously served as FPPOA'sWestern Regional President.

 

Justin "Jay" Thompson, Secretary

Jay

Jay Thompson was appointed as a U.S. Probation Officer in the Southern District of Iowa in July 1999. He has worked worked in both the presentence and supervision units in his district and has served as FPPOA Secretary since January 1, 2005.

 

Ted Shigley, Treasurer

Ted

Ted was appointed as a USPO in the Eastern District of New York, Brooklyn, in January 1989. He transferred to Ohio Southern, Columbus office in July 1992, where he is currently team leader working with the supervision unit.

Ted has served as the FPPOA, Great Lakes Regional President from 1993-1999, and then was elected as the National Treasurer, for two terms, from 2000-2004. He took a brief break from the board and returned to serve again as the National Treasurer for the current term. During his tenure on the national board, Ted has assisted in running the National Training Institutes in San Antonio (1989), St Louis (2000) and Las Vegas (2002).
