5K Run / Walk for Kids

The “iCare for Kids” 5K Run/Walk is being held in conjunction with the 2009 FPPOA National Training Institute. FPPOA would like to invite all NTI participants, local law enforcement officers and the Seattle community to join us in raising awareness about issues of safety for children and support the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). All proceeds from the race will benefit NCMEC.

The course is a USATF certified course that follows a winding path along the beautiful Seattle waterfront. The course is out-and-back, beginning and ending near Pier 70 in Myrtle Edwards Park.

Participants can register for this event by mail or online and the entry fee is $25.00, and $30.00 on the day of the race. Please make all checks payable to “FPPOA”. The entry fee includes a complimentary race T-shirt.

By mail entry forms must be postmarked by March 27, 2009, and sent with payment to the following address: FPPOA iCare for Kids 5K Run/Walk, c/o Seattle Marathon Association, P.O. Box 31849, Seattle, WA 98103.

Online registration can be done at www.active.com. Please note there is an additional processing fee for online registration. Online registration through www.active.com will remain open until April 2, 2009, at 11:59 p.m.

Race day registration begins on April 5, 2009, at 8:00 a.m. at the entrance to Myrtle Edwards Park. At the conclusion of the race, FPPOA will be hosting an awards ceremony and raffle at The Old Spaghetti Factory located at 2801 Elliott Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121.

Awards will be given to the top 2 male/female overall finishers, and top male/female in each category: under 30, 30-39, 40-49, masters (50+), and special law enforcement division.
